Meaning

Used to comment on a situation in which the weather has become warm enough to allow Scottish men to remove their upper layers of clothing.

 

Use

Whenever the level on your thermometer rises above 16˚C. Particularly good for social media updates and hashtags.

Warning

This expression is often followed by someone either removing their shirt or posting a photo of pale men with t-shirt shaped tan lines.
